L.G. 'Rollable' T.V. launched at CES 2019 !!

LG Rollable OLED TV Unveiled at CES

When we talk about televisions, LG is one of those brands that doesn't seem to be lacking behind since LG on Monday at CES, unveiled the world's first rollable TV under its Signature series.
As a trend of bendable displays at CES started taking shape and all of these rollable and bendable displays at CES were no more a concept anymore. Also, because LG Signature Rollable television would be commercially available.

"What science fiction directors imagined decades ago is now a reality", LG senior vice president of marketing David Vanderwaal said while introducing the OLED TV R at CES 2019.

How rollable TV works?

It would be the first thing, coming in your mind that how does it work? And we are here to tell you.
So, L.G. Signature Rollable television is also a piece of furniture along with television. The TV comes with a large aluminum stand in which the TV retracts itself and lives inside it. And top of the stand, there is a motorized cover that runs along its entire width and it slides back to allow the TV to retract. Around the back, you'll see a rigid construction that appears to be a brace in the form of criss cross section. And presumably, it helps to maintain the rigidity of the TV when fully retracted.

So, you can fix the OLED screen in three different positions - Full view, Line view, and Zero view.
Full view is the mode in which TV fully retracts itself from the stand and using all 65 inches.
Line view is the mode when the TV drops itself down to the stand but there's a strip of the TV that is visible and shows the handful of information such as weather and clock, photographs from the smartphone and also shows track information when used as a wireless speaker. Zero view is the mode when TV fully retracts itself into the stand.

Now, you might be wondering, where does the speaker come from? Well, there is a 4.2 channel, 100w speaker built-into the aluminum stand which acts as a soundbar when the TV is in Zero view mode.

Specifications and Features -

LG Signature rollable TV (LG OLED R659) is a 65 inch Signature rollable OLED TV and comes with the LG's latest second generation Alpha 9 processor along with LG's new AI picture and AI sound processing. Also, all the connectivity ports are on the back of the stand including four HDMI inputs to 2.1 standard. And the TV also supports High frame rate [HFR] along with the support of the variable frame rate and the TV is fully compatible with eARC.

Now if we talk about the strong points, the TV has an innovative design, good picture quality but the bad point is that it would be very expensive. This TV is all set to spark a trend in the television line-up among the brands.
